On 4 June 2008, the Pro Marshall Center of the Republic of Moldova attended the Summing-up Seminar on “Improving the quality of teaching and assimilation of police ethics and deontology”. The event was organized by the Academy “Ştefan cel Mare” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. At the seminar was present Mr. Valeriu Valeriu Balaban, Counselor of the Republic of Moldova President, Mr. Andrei Pogurschi, Vice-minister of the Ministry Internal Affairs, Mr. Bob Coburn, ICITAP Program Manager, Mrs. Nicole Whitaker, Deputy Chief of ICITAP Programs and the MIA trainers.
At this meeting were discussed the methods and means of teaching and assimilation of Police Ethics and Deontology. At the same time were analyzed the juridical-penal aspects of the corruption crimes, methods of identification, documentation and detection, and criminal procedure aspects.
One of the main topics approached at the event was the collaboration methods outline among the non-governmental organizations and institutions responsible for order rule. Also at the seminar was carried out a sociological survey concerning the evaluation of the MIA training within the framework of the Millennium Challenge Program.
In closing part the participants expressed their opinion related to the all mentioned at the seminar, in addition to this was emphasized the importance of the such seminar were solutions, recommendations and suggestion can be traced in order to diminish corruption level within MIA.
